Picking an agent to help you buy or sell VA homes for sale
While it can challenging to identify the right real estate agent, you will find that the following list can be very helpful in expediting the process.
- Get at least 3 references from previously happy customers
- Look for a minimum of 3 years experience
- The average agent does 8.7 transactions sides per year. Look for someone who has closed at a higher annual rate
- Remember – You don’t always get what you pay for in real estate brokerage. Some of the best agents offer “full service” for reduced commissions in order to keep volume high
- Rate is important, but not all agents and brokers offering a lower commission are equal. If you find an unusually low commission, be sure to ask exactly what the agent will do for you, before you sign a listing or buyer representation agreement
- Once you have created your list, go back to the agent you want to work with the most and ask him/her to provide all the services you hear about while interviewing other agents, at the best rate you have been quoted by an agent offering comparable service level. If the agent is unwilling to do one of the things on your list, make sure that it is for a sound business reason that work to your best interest and make a decision from there
